This role is responsible for recruiting Programming Directors and Researchers (Sales staff) for the Industry News team in the UK and the US. The role is also responsible for market mapping and building a pipeline of candidates for future recruitment. The person will be an expert networker with the ability to attract potential candidates and represent the business professionally and knowledgeably.


  • Quickly understand the business of Industry News and the profile of a successful candidate, as well as quickly getting to grips with our culture and environment
  • Work with HR and hiring managers to establish recruitment needs in the UK and the US
  • Build applicant sources by researching competitors
  • Attract applicants through low cost methods including social media
  • Conduct research using direct recruitment methods and tools such as LinkedIn to build succession options within the market for Sales roles and to market map the industry and our competitors, identifying suitable candidates
  • Use candidate databases to find suitable candidates
  • Headhunting – identify and approach suitable candidates in a respectful and professional manner
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of suitable candidates
  • Brief candidates on the Industry News business, the role, salary and benefits
  • Organise and arrange all stages of the Sales recruitment and selection cycle
  • Receive and review applications and candidate suitability before referring on to hiring managers
  • Conduct telephone interviews where appropriate
  • Arrange interviews including Skype calls, prepare packs for panels and liaise with and feed back to candidates
  • Maintain best practice recruitment standards at all times
  • Network and act as an ambassador for Industry News and ITN Productions
  • Keep abreast of the B2B sales industry
  • Provide market insight to management on competitor activity, salary benchmarking and anything else relevant
  • Produce status reports for management and HR on a regular basis
  • Review recruitment practices to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes
  • Come up with initiatives to support our drive for greater diversity.


  • Experience recruiting for the B2B sales industry – ideally concept sales rather than solution sales
  • Proven success building candidate pools through direct means and headhunting candidates directly
  • Experience recruiting remotely for the US an advantage
  • Strong research skills
