    A demanding senior leadership role providing financial and operational direction across the implementation of host broadcasting services for IAAF Productions, a joint venture between ITN Productions and IAAF. IAAF Productions is the host broadcaster for the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar. The candidate will work with the General Manager of IAAF Productions and across the Host Broadcast Senior Management team on project management, resourcing, budgeting, cost control, recruitment and contracting.  He/she will have specific responsibility for all finance operations with oversight of Legal and HR functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape an exciting venture



    • Jointly accountable with senior colleagues for ensuring an understanding of, and compliance with ITN Group and ITN Productions’ policies, guidelines, legislative and regulatory requirements (with particular emphasis on Health & Safety and Risk Management),  in
    • order to minimise the organisation’s risk.
    • Ensure best practice protocols are implemented and adhered to across the division
    • Accountable for resolving operational and financial issues commensurate with the role
    • Jointly accountable with senior colleagues for delivering demonstrable value for money through effective management of people and resources.
    • Accountable for working with Procurement to implement the strategy for the procurement of production resources, developing supplier frameworks and lists, and ensuring compliance with them
    • Jointly accountable with senior editorial and leadership colleagues for establishing and overseeing plans for business continuity and disaster recovery in the production and post production areas.



    • Lead on and/or input into decisions regarding the financial and operational performance of projects
    • Responsible for the strategic allocation of funding and, where necessary, approve, set, and monitor budgets 
    • Oversee assessment of the financial viability of content ideas, identifying and mitigating any risks
    • Responsible for ensuring close co-operation with Finance team on high financial risk/complex projects and/or across a portfolio of projects
    • Ownership of the budget and cost tracking of the project, including monitoring spend and ensuring the project remains within budget
    • Reporting of financial performance and KPIs to senior management
    • Detailed cashflow forecasting, including identifying requirements for and implementing foreign currency hedging
    • Ensure invoicing is kept up to date.



    • Worldwide travel / weekend work as required by events
    • Attend all major events as well as being available for pre and post event preparation/debrief

    • Experience of large-scale sports Outside Broadcasts desirable
    • Extensive experience of financial planning for large-scale live events and managing multi-million pound budgets
    • An understanding of Clearcast process and approvals desirable 
    • Excellent knowledge of production processes and workflows
    • Considerable experience of long-term project planning
    • Experience of managing complex rights and funding models
    • Extensive expertise in finance and budgeting, currency phasing, cashflow
    • Extensive knowledge of rate cards
    • In-depth understanding of insurances, licenses, regulatory legal and compliance policies and issues
    • Experience of working in large diverse teams across a broad range of output and locations
    • Assertive whilst having an empathy for the needs of the business / others
    • Excellent business relationships and a collaborative nature
    • Open minded and solutions orientated
    • Positive approach to pressure and a talent for multi-tasking
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Proven experience of leading change and continuous improvement programmes
    • Interest in and knowledge of sport generally and athletics in particular
    • Position based in London but must be willing and able to travel
