This position fulfils a number of newsgathering roles across the Channel 5 news and planning desks. You will assist our News Editors and planning team across TV and digital output to chase and secure content and guests and assign resources. The successful candidate will be proactive in finding story elements, understand the 5 News agenda and have the energy and enthusiasm to deliver distinctive programmes. You must also appreciate the importance of social media and work with our correspondents in promoting our content online.
We’re looking for ambitious multimedia journalists to join our digital team in central London and be part of one of Britain’s most exciting newsrooms. The roles will work across breaking news and analysis on the ITV News website/app and social media, producing high-quality written content on the biggest news agendas. The successful candidate will have experience of writing for a national or big regional title, have a strong understanding of producing news for search, social and direct audiences, have some experience of working with video and a good understanding of Ofcom guidelines.
This role contains varied early and late shifts, and includes weekends. Experience working with video and original news picture is not essential, but there will be the expectation that multimedia producers will go on to clip, edit and occasionally create video for all platforms.
Being able to work at our central London offices is essential.

This is a 8-week attachment starting in July.

The Programme Editor is a senior editorial and creative role in the 5 News team, producing programmes to the highest standards and helping to direct digital output. This role requires an experienced journalist with creative ideas, sound news judgement and the ability to motivate and lead input and output teams, sometimes under intense pressure. The successful candidate must be able to make correct legal and compliance decisions to tight deadlines. This role also requires an experienced line manager who is used to developing and retaining talent.
This role is offered as a 3-month contract or attachment. The ideal start date for the position is July 2022.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and passionate Production Assistant to join our exciting young dynamic team.
This role sits in the creative and commercial hub of ITN Productions’ offering. The Advertising and Branded Content team produce high end TV commercials and branded social media video content campaigns across multiple broadcasters and platforms including ITV, Channel 4, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
The role will primarily involve supporting all producers with their delivery of a vast range of complex commercial and branded content projects including live TV adverts direct to broadcasters.
The Production Assistant will be responsible for production administration including onboarding freelancers, processing invoices, managing cost trackers, booking taxies/couriers, and production budget reconciliation. As well as this you will be attending shoots to assist with the management of film crews and on-screen talent to ensure the smooth running of the campaign.

To fulfil a number of editorial and logistical roles for the ITV News Home and Foreign Desks, working on location and supporting output and digital teams.
To supply on-the-day news content to ITN's global partners by editing footage and logging rushes/bulletins for re-use on broadcast and digital platforms.

This will involve in-depth research of multiple industries and sectors aligning to projects as well as mapping senior stakeholders within various organisations, to identify commercially viable lead pools relevant to current projects.
In addition, the job will involve liaising with CEO’s/MD’s/EA’s in direct relation to the scheduling of diaries for Programming Directors.
The successful candidate would demonstrate the ability to research, map, learn and understand industry-specific issues, a highly organised approach to diary management and multitasking. They would have experience in boardroom level communication skills, as well as EA’s / PA’s developing rapport and a strong interest in news and current affairs.
To provide sound commercial and contractual legal advice as required across ITN’s business but principally to ITN Productions on a 12-month FTC Maternity Cover, working a flexible working pattern in the office of 5 days a fortnight.
Vision mixing is the core function of this role, working under the direction of a Programme Director on our flagship weekday programmes, or whilst simultaneously directing on weekend and shorter productions.
During transmission the Technical Director is also responsible for a number of ancillary technical functions, primarily the control of the template graphics playout system, Viz Content Pilot.
ITV News, ITV News London and Channel 4 News are the main focus for the team, but there is also opportunity to work across ITN’s ad-hoc output, including special events, sports, advertising and commercial production.
